We are a group of mothers who arrange tailor-made language exchanges between families in the UK, the US, France, Spain, Italy and Germany. We firmly believe that total immersion in a loving family is the most efficient and fun way to improve your children’s language skills.
Rates and Payment Terms
The fees
Registration fees :- £50 per family and per child.
- £25 for siblings whose primary residence is with one of one of the two parents, payable at registration.
After April 1st 2009 or six weeks prior to the exchange: - £80 per family and per child.
- £40 for siblings whose primary residence is with one of one of the two parents, payable at registration.
- £230 per family and per child.
Discounts may be offered to those who send two or more children to the same family.
All prices are indicated in pound sterling and are inclusive of VAT.
After April 1st 2009, both the registration and introduction fees are payable at the time of registration. Two separate checks should be made, one for the registration and one for the introduction fee. In the case where we are unable to find a suitable family for the period required, the introduction fee will be reimbursed. You will remain on our books so we can find you someone for the next holidays if you so wish.
Refunds and Cancellations
You have seven days from the date of registration to cancel, without any penalties or reason. However this right to cancel is no longer effective once you have accepted to be introduced to a family.
If the other family cancels the exchange we will find you a replacement family. The introduction fee will be refunded in full if we are unable to find a replacement family.
If you decide to cancel hosting the child of the Link Family after your own child has enjoyed their hospitality, you will be obliged to find another family to host the child. Otherwise you will be required to pay a search fee of £100 to Lingualinks for finding a new family.
We will refund you the introduction fee if we are unable to find you a suitable family.
If part of an exchange is cancelled due to non compliance with our General Terms and Conditions, the conditions above do not apply.
References
If you have not been introduced to us by a family who is already part of the Lingualinks network or by one of our partner schools you must provide contact details for a family with children of a similar age to your own who are willing to provide a character reference. They may not be family members.
Our Responsibility
We provide an introduction service between families who wish to organise non-commercial linguistic and cultural exchanges for their children.
Our purpose is to assist British families who are looking for a French Family to host their children as part of a language exchange.
Therefore we can not be held responsible for what happens during the exchange. Our service is strictly limited to introducing Families. We strongly recommend that the Families introduced by us should get to know each other as much as possible by telephone and email. If a family is unsure about sending their child to stay with a French family, we recommend you first host a child in order to reassure yourselves of the compatibility of the children.
Lingualinks can not be held responsible if the Family is not happy with what occurs during the exchange.
All the families registered with Lingualinks have been recommended by friends or interviewed by us.
You are advised to take out travel insurance for your child during the exchange but this is your responsibility.
